2026 Chikarovski Cup: Sydney Women’s Rugby Season Preview, Standings & Fixtures

Sydney Women’s Rugby is back for 2026, and the Chikarovski Cup kicks off today, 11 April. Eight clubs — Eastern Suburbs, Gordon, Manly, Southern Districts, Sydney University, Warringah, Western Sydney Two Blues and Hunter Wildfires — will battle it out across 14 home-and-away rounds from April through August, with a finals series to follow. This is shaping up to be one of the most competitive seasons in recent memory — here’s everything you need to know before the first whistle blows.

ONES TO CIRCLE

Two dates stand out above the rest this season. Round 11 on Saturday 4 July brings the Super Round to Woollahra Oval — all eight clubs in action at one iconic Sydney venue, making it the biggest day on the women’s rugby calendar. If you’ve been thinking about coming to a live match, this is the one to start with.

Beyond that, the early rounds set up some mouth-watering clashes straight away. Round 1 today, 11 April sees Eastern Suburbs host Southern Districts, Gordon take on WS Two Blues, Manly face Wildfires, and Warringah travel to Sydney University — four competitive fixtures to open the season in style. There are also two bye weeks to note: Saturday 6 June for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, and a wet weather contingency weekend reserved for 11 July.
