Another weekend of Sydney Women’s Rugby Union football is done. The Chikarovski Cup and the Div 2 Cup both had results that matter for the ladder — here’s the full wrap, plus a look ahead at what’s coming next weekend.
Chikarovski Cup — Round 5 Results
Manly 29 v 12 Warringah | Manly Oval
Manly were in control throughout, running out 29–12 winners at home. It’s back-to-back convincing wins for Manly, who are firmly in the Chikarovski Cup top group and showing no signs of slowing down.
Souths 10 v 24 Wildfires | Forshaw Rugby Park
Wildfires made the trip to Forshaw Rugby Park and left with a comfortable 24–10 win. It keeps Wildfires among the most consistent teams in the competition — they’ve won four of five and continue to be a genuine Chikarovski Cup title contender.
Gordon 17 v 15 Easts | Chatswood Oval
A tight mid-week contest at Chatswood Oval. Gordon held on for a 17–15 win in a game that could have gone either way. Two points that matter for Gordon’s ladder position, and a narrow loss that Easts will feel they could have avoided.
Two Blues 7 v 5 Sydney Uni | Holroyd Sportsground
The game of the round. Two Blues and Sydney Uni served up the tightest contest of the weekend — a 7–5 result that barely separated two of the competition’s better teams. Two Blues take the points and strengthen their Chikarovski Cup ladder position, while Sydney Uni’s finals hopes take a hit they’ll need to recover from quickly.
