Round Results: Chikarovski Cup Round 6 & Div 2 Cup Round 4

Saturday 23 May delivered another full round of Sydney Women’s Rugby Union football, with the Chikarovski Cup and Div 2 Cup both producing results that continue to shape the ladder heading into the second half of the season.

Chikarovski Cup – Round 6 Results

Wildfires 17 v 5 Warringah | Newcastle Sports Ground 2

Wildfires were in control from early on, winning 17–5 on their home ground in Newcastle. It’s five wins from six for Wildfires, who remain top of the Chikarovski Cup ladder and continue to be the competition’s most consistent side.

Sydney Uni 32 v 5 Gordon | St John’s College Oval

Sydney Uni produced their best performance of the season, putting 32 past Gordon at St John’s College Oval. A statement win that lifts Sydney Uni back into the top four conversation and puts the competition on notice that they’re not done yet.

Easts 5 v 21 Two Blues | Woollahra Oval

Two Blues closed out the round with a 21–5 win over Easts at Woollahra Oval. It’s four wins from six for Two Blues, who sit third on the Chikarovski Cup ladder and are within striking distance of the top two with rounds still to play.

Div 2 Cup – Round 4 Results

Norths Sirens 17 v 15 Manly 2 | Bon Andrews Oval

A tight contest at Bon Andrews Oval. Norths Sirens held on to win 17–15, with Manly 2 pushing hard until the end but unable to close the gap. A valuable two points for Norths Sirens, and a fourth loss in four games for Manly 2.

Gordon 2 0 v 46 Campbelltown | Beauchamp Park

Campbelltown were dominant from start to finish, running up 46 unanswered points against Gordon 2. It keeps Campbelltown the only unbeaten side in the Div 2 Cup and sends a clear message about where their form is at. Gordon 2 are yet to win a game this season.

Wildfires 2 27 v 10 West Harbour | Newcastle Sports Ground 2

Wildfires 2 made it back-to-back wins with a 27–10 result over West Harbour in Newcastle. After their 12–0 shut-out of Norths Sirens in Round 3, Wildfires 2 are building into the competition at the right time. West Harbour have now dropped two in a row.

Randwick 28 v 0 Chifley Chiefs | Coogee Oval

Randwick were clinical at home, keeping Chifley Chiefs scoreless and winning 28–0 at Coogee Oval. Three wins from four and top of the Div 2 Cup ladder — Randwick are making their case as the competition’s most complete team.

Easts 2 5 v 42 Two Blues 2 | Woollahra Oval

Two Blues 2 put 42 past Easts 2 at Woollahra Oval, their second consecutive 30-plus-point win. They’ve scored 78 points across Rounds 3 and 4 and are the form team in the Div 2 Cup. The competition is on notice.
