The penultimate round of the Sydney Women’s Rugby Union season arrives this Saturday 20 June, with Chikarovski Cup Round 9 and Div 2 Cup Round 7 both on the card. Finals positions in the Chikarovski Cup and the Div 2 Cup title race are both very much alive, it’s a weekend where results will matter.
Chikarovski Cup – Round 9 Preview
Wildfires lead the Chikarovski Cup on 28 points after six wins from eight rounds. Sydney Uni sit second on 26 points, five wins from eight, and are in the form of their season. Two Blues are third on 25 points, also five wins from eight, and within striking distance of the top two. Manly are fourth on 23 points with two games in hand, including a postponed Round 7 fixture against Gordon at Keirle Park on 23 June. Souths are fifth on 21 points, Warringah sixth on 19, Gordon seventh on 12, and Easts remain without a win through eight rounds.
With one round remaining after this weekend, plus Manly’s outstanding fixture, the top four is still being decided. Points this Saturday are critical.
Sydney Uni v Two Blues — Sydney University Football Ground | Sat 20 June, 9:00 AM
The game of the round. Sydney Uni host Two Blues at Sydney University Football Ground in a top-three clash that has direct Chikarovski Cup ladder implications. Sydney Uni are on a three-match winning run — victories over Gordon, Easts, and Manly — and will carry genuine confidence into this one at home. Two Blues need a win after their loss to Warringah in Round 8 dropped them to third. A Two Blues win closes the gap on Sydney Uni to a single point. A Sydney Uni win puts them in a strong position to secure second on the Chikarovski Cup ladder heading into the final round.
Warringah v Manly — Pittwater Rugby Park No. 2 | Sat 20 June, 12:00 PM
Warringah are coming off their best result of the season — a 20–7 win over Two Blues in Round 8 — and host Manly at Pittwater Rugby Park. Manly have four wins from six games and remain in contention for the top two, but they’re yet to play their postponed Round 7 fixture and will have that in hand. Warringah have been inconsistent across the season but are capable of causing problems for any side when they’re on their game, as Round 8 showed.
Wildfires v Souths — Newcastle Sports Ground 2 | Sat 20 June, 12:00 PM
Wildfires are back on top of the Chikarovski Cup after wins over Warringah and Gordon in the last two rounds and host Souths in Newcastle. Souths have won four from seven and are out of the top-four race, but have enough quality to make this competitive. Wildfires at home have been one of the most reliable combinations in the competition. A win here strengthens their grip on first place with one round to go.
Gordon v Easts — Woollahra Oval | Sat 20 June, 3:30 PM
Gordon have won two from seven this season and host a winless Easts side at Woollahra Oval. Both clubs will be closing out their Chikarovski Cup season wanting to finish on a positive note. Gordon will be the favourite at home, and a win here moves them to three for the season.

Div 2 Cup — Round 7 Preview
The Div 2 Cup title race has come down to two sides. Campbelltown lead on 24 points — unbeaten through five completed rounds — and Wildfires 2 are level on 24 points with five wins from six. Randwick sit third on 21 points and remain in the picture, while West Harbour are fourth on 17. Two Blues 2 are fifth on 16 points after their Round 6 draw with Norths Sirens. Campbelltown have games in hand, including the postponed Chifley Chiefs fixture, which adds further weight to their position at the top.
This Saturday features five fixtures across the Div 2 Cup, with the standout clash between Two Blues 2 and Campbelltown shaping as a potential title-decider.
Randwick v Gordon 2 — Coogee Oval | Sat 20 June, 9:20 AM
Randwick need to respond after losing to Wildfires 2 in Round 6 and host Gordon 2 at Coogee Oval. Gordon 2 have one draw and three losses from four completed rounds and are yet to win. Randwick will be strong favourites at home and need the points to stay within reach of the top two on the Div 2 Cup ladder.
West Harbour v Manly 2 — St Luke’s North | Sat 20 June, 10:30 AM
West Harbour are fourth on 17 points and host Manly 2 at St Luke’s North. Manly 2 are in reasonable form — two wins from five, including a 28–0 win over Chifley Chiefs in Round 6 — and will travel with confidence. West Harbour have the scoring firepower, 155 points for the season, and should have enough to win at home.
Wildfires 2 v Chifley Chiefs — Newcastle Sports Ground 2 | Sat 20 June, 10:50 AM
Wildfires 2 host Chifley Chiefs in Newcastle and will be strong favourites against a side that has lost all five of their completed fixtures. Wildfires 2 need a win here to maintain pressure on Campbelltown at the top of the Div 2 Cup and will be looking for a performance that keeps the title race alive heading into the final round.
Easts 2 v Norths Sirens — Woollahra Oval | Sat 20 June, 2:15 PM
Easts 2 are yet to score a competition point through four rounds and host Norths Sirens, who have two wins and two draws from five games. Norths Sirens will be firm favourites and are looking to finish their season strongly in the top half of the Div 2 Cup ladder.
Two Blues 2 v Campbelltown — Granville Oval No 1 | Sat 20 June, 3:30 PM
The standout fixture of the Div 2 Cup round — and one of the most important games of the entire 2026 season. Two Blues 2 host Campbelltown at Granville Oval No 1 with the Div 2 Cup title directly at stake. Campbelltown are unbeaten, have conceded just 24 points all season, and arrive as the competition’s most dominant side on points differential. Two Blues 2 have been competitive throughout — three wins, a draw, and two losses — and showed in Round 5 that they can go toe-to-toe with the best, before losing to Wildfires 2. A Campbelltown win moves them closer to the Div 2 Cup title. A Two Blues 2 win blows the race wide open and hands Wildfires 2 a genuine shot at top spot. The Div 2 Cup ladder could look very different by Saturday evening.
